At Nikuya Yakiniku BBQ Restaurant, we bring the authentic Japanese BBQ experience, known as Yakiniku, to Berlin. As the second Japanese BBQ restaurant in the city, we take pride in offering a unique dining experience where tradition meets modern convenience. Our name, “Nikuya,” translates to “Meat House” in Japanese, reflecting our dedication to serving high-quality, expertly prepared meat.
What is Yakiniku?
Yakiniku, meaning “grilled meat” in Japanese, traces its roots back to the early 20th century, with influences from both Japanese culinary traditions and Korean BBQ. Originally popularized in Japan, Yakiniku has evolved into a beloved dining style where family and friends gather around a grill to cook bite-sized pieces of meat and vegetables to their liking. The interactive, communal nature of Yakiniku makes it more than just a meal—it’s a shared experience and memory.
